Ramya was born in Bangalore, Karnataka State on 29 November 1981. She studied at St. Hilda’s school in Ooty (Tamil Nadu). She then earned her collegiate at St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bangalore.

Ramya participated in stage shows and dance rehearsals from her grade school days. Ramya is busty, her body structure is well suitable for glamor roles.
